ABOUT Me
My Mom gave me my first piano lessons when I was seven. It was love at first note, so a year later I began training with Ukrainian composer and pianist Sophia Pavlenko. From there, I attended the North Carolina School of the Arts summer program, Brevard Music Center, and The Lamont School of Music. I’ve studied under some exceptional pianists such as Douglas weeks, Steven Mayer, Alice Rybak and Heidi Brende Leathwood.
I started teaching piano when I was eighteen; over ten years later, it’s still one of my favorite ways to spend time. In my lessons, you can expect freedom and creativity to rule supreme. My roots are in classical music, but if you want to learn Star Wars tunes, I’m all for it. I like a healthy dose of music theory in my lessons because I think there’s power in understanding music as a language rather than a bunch of random notes. And if you want to take that language a step further, I’d love to show you how to make up your own tunes using a few simple scales and chords :)
